Myddle HeartBeat hosts AED Training Day

More than 40 new volunteers from five local villages attended a training day in Myddle village hall on Saturday 19th January.

Representatives from Myddle, Baschurch, Loppington, Clive, Bomere Heath and Ludlow overcame snow and freezing conditions to attend two “back to back” emergency first aid and defibrillator training sessions. The training was provided by West Midlands Ambulance Service, with each session lasting four hours. Volunteers learned how the heart works, how to recognise the signs of a heart attack, how to carry out CPR on an unconscious patient, and how to use one of the new Automated External Defibrillators now being stationed in these villages.

Myddle HeartBeat wishes to express its grateful thanks for the excellent training provided by Cliff Medlicott, Community Response Manager for West Midlands Ambulance Service and his team of Dawn and Richard – and also to the committee members who supported the event by helping with refreshments on the day.
