Welcome to the Myddle & Broughton Parish Community Led Plan

Producing a Plan means everyone in this parish can help contribute to decisions about local matters and get a greater say on any possible changes. A plan will allow people in this parish to ensure that the right developments of all kinds take place. The plan will last 5 years before renewal, but if in two years time we have no plan, we will have nothing to counter any unwanted interference or development.

Our plan might influence matters such as the number or mix of housing, or help set standards for the look or design for new homes; perhaps suggest where new development is suitable or otherwise.

But our plan might be about more than just building development.

The plan can concern common matters like recreational facilities, open spaces, or allotments; bus or council services. It might say how existing services or facilities could be improved, be they public, commercial, or charitable. Or, deal with something quite specific to us and our area concerning special assets or unrecognised needs or wishes.

Shropshire Council says it wants local people to have a real voice in deciding the look and feel of future development in their area and says local plans will be part of future decision making.

If we have a plan which shows everyone was well consulted and the points are supported by a vast majority then Shropshire Council will have to take it greatly into consideration.

It is essential if our plan is to be adopted by the council that it shows we have a good grasp on our concerns, we represent opinions well, and we say clearly what it is we want.

This is YOUR PLAN – it has begun, BUT it will only be as good as YOU can help make it. If you have concerns or wishes or ideas then join a team or help fill our vacancies. Talk to one of us!
