that bridged divisions and broke down barriers. Yes they needed to work it through, and that was not without pain at times. They didn’t always get it right, but in all they did there was a basic understanding of a shared life, which today’s emphasis on the individual can easily erode and sideline.
So let’s celebrate all that we share, let’s take every opportunity to strengthen our communal life – let’s continue to work together to encourage and support each other. Let’s enjoy all we do together as village and as church communities – whatever the weather!
