MINISTRY TEAM In a multi-church group like ours, it is important to keep an overview of what we are seeking to achieve in our ministry as churches in our communities, as well as ensuring that local needs are met when clergy are shared between parishes. This is why we have a Ministry Team – representatives from each Parochial Church Council who meet together to pray and reflect on our worship and witness, to support the clergy and other authorised ministers, and to be a channel of communication and concern between the parishes. We recently had a review of our Mandate (our ‘authorisation’ from the Bishop), which highlighted the need for better communication and understanding of the nature of the Ministry Team, as well as affirming the good things we are achieving. As we seek to work more collaboratively – recognising the shared nature of ministry across the whole church – we need people who will recognise and encourage the amazing range of gifts and talents we have in our churches, and underline that we all have a part to play in the work of the church. So please talk to your Ministry Team members, share your ideas and concerns, and let’s together seek to further build up our ministry of welcome, care and prayer in all our villages.
