MYDDLE C/E PRIMARY SCHOOL New pupils - This term we have 5 new pupils (Bob, Charlie, George, India, & Molly) who have started in our Reception Class. We welcome them & hope that they all enjoy their time with us.
P. E. -Years 2-6 were starting swimming lessons in Shrewsbury each Wednesday for 6 weeks – the first lesson was cancelled due to the weather but they will, hopefully, get a makeup lesson in the coming weeks.
Snow – School only closed for one day during the recent bad weather; our thanks to the staff that made every effort to keep our school open.
Open Afternoons – held in each class have been a success his term, with many positive comments being made about teaching & learning as well as the welcome people received from our school.
Artist Visit – At the end of January we have an artist visiting school for 2 days to help the children make a mosaic mural.
Events before Christmas Our school raised £105.41p for Children in Need. CSO Liam Heathcote visited & worked with Years 5 & 6 on cyber bullying.
Thank you to Governor Mr Phil Keyse who persuaded Shrewsbury Town F.C. to give the school free tickets to a football match and to Mr Richard Osborne for providing the coach. Our head and football team captain were presented with a signed football and certificate on the pitch at half time. (Unfortunately Shrewsbury Town only managed to draw).
Our school production of Joseph & His Coat of Many Colours was wonderful. The performances of the children were a revelation, the whole school took part. Well done to everyone, both staff & pupils, they did an amazing job.
Thank you to the PTA for arranging to take the whole school to the pantomime to see Peter Pan.
Class 1 put on their own nativity performance in the school.
An excellent Christmas Lunch, cooked in the School kitchen by our catering staff, was enjoyed by all in school. |
