Tributes were paid to Margaret Busi, a very long serving member , who had written to the president saying that, owing to ill health, she would have to retire from W.I. The president had written to her thanking her for all she had contributed over the years. The letter was signed by all the members. It was agreed to give her a voucher for the Country Garden Centre.

Thanks are also due to the members who provided and decorated the tree for St. Peter's Church  Christmas Tree Evening.

The next meeting is on  Thursday , February 11th. when the speaker will be Jim Hawkins from Radio Shropshire.

Visitors, including men, are most welcome at a charge of £3.                                                                             LN

MYDDLE MESSENGER

Following on from the last edition of The Messenger (it seems ages ago now!), I am still trying to find an acceptable and

reasonably priced solution to the collating, stapling and folding of the magazine.  I am still willing to do the editorial work (i.e. the gathering of articles onto the computer) but am finding the rest of the work very arduous and time consuming.  I have done this now, with the help of just one or two good friends, for many years and I think now is the time to try something new. All too often we expect the willing horse to carry on regardless.

I have investigated a number of different ways of doing it (and still am) but there always seems to be a stumbling block; either the cost is too high or the print date cannot be confirmed.  If nothing positive

transpires over the next week or so, I may look at getting a team of volunteers together so that the work can be shared and done in

record time.

If you could spare 2 or 3 hours a month to help please let me know and we will see if something can be organised.                                                                                                  Liz Hodge  (01939 291030)
