Myddle C/E Primary School World Book Day was marked in several ways.”Ready, Steady, Read!”- a sponsored reading challenge to raise money for books was held throughout the week; an Usborne Books representative visited school with a selection of books; children received their free book tokens & each class came to school dressed up. Class 1 as “someone who helps us”, Class 2 as book characters, & Class 3 as pirates.
Early Years Conference - Mrs. Kerry Goddard (Cass 1 teacher) was asked to talk to other teachers, at Albrighton Hall, about work being done on the Creative curriculum in our school.
Easter Bunny Drive - A new event, organized by our PTA. An evening held in the School Hall that adds a seasonal flavour to the traditional Beetle Drive.
During Holy Week we are linking with St Peter's Church for an Easter experience. Children will visit different areas within the Church, which the school and Church will set up, for a range of activities.
If you have any information, pictures, memorabilia or memories, you are willing to share; we would love to hear from you. We would be especially grateful for anyone willing to come and talk about their experiences during the war- as evacuees, land girls, or members of the armed forces. Please contact Miss Jeffery, our head teacher, on 01939 290834.
Voucher Time again! – Several of the larger supermarkets are currently offering vouchers for school equipment. As we are a relatively small school we would be grateful if the community could help us collect as many as possible. Please pass them on to anyone who has children at school.
Thank you. ER |
